Dr. Susan Robinson is one of a very small group of US physicians that continues to provide abortions during the third trimester of pregnancy. In this August 2015 interview, she discusses the events that prompted her to begin speaking openly about her practice despite the climate of fear and stigma around later abortion.
One of the physicians who provided later abortion at the Wichita, KS clinic owned by Dr. George Tiller, his 2009 murder galvanized Dr. Robinson to publicly share her reasons for providing later abortion and her experiences of counseling women through the procedure.
